Sugaring Body Sugaring Hair Removal

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Sugaring hair removal is similar to waxing but unlike waxing, does not involve heating the substance that is applied to your skin.

Like waxing, sugaring hair removal can be painful and it tends to offer similar results to waxing in terms of the degree of time that you might be free of the hair.

Generally, unwanted hair might start growing back within several weeks time so like waxing, sugaring is something that you’ll have to do regularly to continue to have hair-free skin.

Some people choose to create their own sugar product at home from a recipe rather than buying it from a store but there are commercially available products available if you’re not into creating one yourself.

Basically, you take a suitable amount of the sugar and press it against the skin to be treated and then cover the sugar with a cloth or paper strip similar to what you’d use for waxing.

You then quickly remove the strip in the opposite direction of the hair growth in a similar fashion to a wax strip to remove the hair. You repeat the process until the unwanted hair is removed.

As with other hair removal options the results and side effects from sugaring hair removal will vary by person. Certain body parts shouldn’t be treated and some body parts are best treated by a professional.

Temporary and permanent hair removal technology is evolving constantly and is relevant to both men and women who want to remove unwanted hair.

Sugaring Hair Removal – How To Get The Best Results

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

To remove the hair by the root it must be at least 1/4 inch
or 6 mm long. Longer hair should be trimmed to this length.

Hair must be clean and dry before starting hair removal
sugaring.

Remove all creams and oils, towel dry and then apply talcum
powder to ensure the skin is completely dry.

Apply the sugaring paste in the direction of the hair
growth.

When pressing the cotton strip on top of the paste, leave a
small section at the end free so it will be easy to hold
when pulling back.

If using a spatula to apply the paste use the edge not the
flat side. This will help ensure a very thin layer is
applied.

Pull the strip back sharply against the direction of the
hair growth. Do not lift the strip up or out away from the
skin.

Hold the skin firmly with one hand while you pull the strip
back sharply with the other hand.

Treat small areas at a time when hair removal sugaring on
sensitive parts of the body.

When heating the paste, either by microwave or oven, be
absolutely sure the paste is just warm to the touch not hot.
Otherwise burns to the skin may result.

If using hot water to warm the paste container, be sure not
to allow water into the paste. Sugar paste is water soluble
and will be spoiled if the container is not sealed properly
and water gets in.

Note: Hair inhibitors and sugar hair removal compliment each
other well. As sugaring paste pulls the hair out from the
roots, hair inhibitors can have a maximum effect in
disabling the hair follicle and slowing down and preventing
future hair growth. Click here for details:

Effective Body Hair Removal Techniques

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

If it’s within your budget, the fastest way to remove unwanted body hair is by undergoing laser treatments. Although this is the most expensive approach, laser hair removal is the most effective at permanently eliminating body hair. Unlike electrolysis, where each hair follicle must be dealt with individually making the process extremely time-consuming and painful, laser therapy can impact several follicles simultaneously, which greatly speeds up the process. It’s great for removing hair from the back and chest, arms and legs.

As stated already however, the costs are extreme. To do an area as large as the back will cost several thousand dollars, and that’s per treatment. Several treatments are necessary because the laser technique can only impact hair that is currently in a growing stage. Also, there will be places where hair will regrow and although it will regrow finer and lighter, in order to be permanent, the hair follicle needs to be rendered incapable of growing new hair.

The next best method of removing body hair is waxing. Far less expensive than laser treatments and even electrolysis, waxing works by extracting hairs out of their shafts. Because the hair follicle is not specifically and purposely damaged, hair will regrow, but it will take several weeks for it to reappear. Repetitive application of this hair removal process may ultimately affect the follicle and cause hair growth to cease, however, this is not guaranteed which is why waxing cannot be considered a permanent hair removal method.

Waxing, or sugaring if you’re sensitive to wax or prefer an organic solution, works by applying a layer of cold or hot wax or a sugar-based mixture directly on the area where hair is to be removed. After allowing to harden it is very quickly peeled away from the skin, in the opposite direction of the hair growth and viola – the body hair is pulled free from that area. The process is repeated until the entire body surface is free of hair. It is possible to do this at home, but since most of us have a low tolerance to self-inflicted pain, you’ll get better and faster results if you leave this type of work to someone else, at least for the first few times.
